British Gillette Adjustable Aristocrat Presentation Set For SaleSUPER RARE British Gillette Adjustable AristocratPresentationSet, including all original paperwork.
In the early 1960s, Gillette in Britain made a very limited number of presentation sets. This one was presented to an executive of the company when he left Britain to work for Gillette in the United States. These sets have always been extremely rare, and are a very infrequent find.
The razor is a G4 (1961) slim adjustable razor, made in the USA, but plated in 22ct gold. The finish is flawless, and the razor is in mint condition. It has been used once or twice, then put back in the box and forgotten about for fifty years.
Blades are H3 (1962) but they appear to be original to the set.
Paperwork includes money backguaranteeregistration, instruction manual and warning to lock the blade with an extra half turn.
Case is burgundy leather, interior has some age spots but exterior is beautiful (and smells leathery). Outer cardboard box is in good condition for age.
The British division of Gillette wererenownedfor the quality of their razors, prior to this they had been making their own high end Aristocrat models but these ceased with the introduction of the adjustable razors. Thispresentationset was the final high end razor produced. The razor is plated with abrilliant(nearly unphotographable) finish, and the quality of the case surpasses anything made by the company in America at the time. It is one of the most beautifully presented razors ever made by Gillette.
The rarity of this set is what sets it apart though. Whilst gold plated slim adjustables (called Aristocrats by Gillette in America) are easy to come by, the British Presentation Set is not. Toggles and double rings are regularly to be found on , bottom dial fatboys occasionally - presentation sets do not appear. So don't miss your opportunity!
