In accordance with the Regulations for the Royal Naval Reserve
Lieutenant Alfred Spencer Gibb has been placed on the Retired List, withpermission to assume the rank of Commander. Dated 15th May, 1912. Admiralty, 14th July, 1916.
The Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty have received with much satisfactionfrom the officers in charge of the Auxiliary Patrol areas at home and abroadreports on the services performed by the officers and men serving under theirorders during the period 1st January, 1915, to 31st January, 1916. Thesereports show that the officers and men serving in Armed Yachts, Trawlers andDrifters of the Auxiliary Patrol during the period in question have carried outtheir duties under extremely arduous and hazardous conditions of weather andexposure to enemy attack and mines with marked zeal, gallantry and success.
The KING has been graciously pleased to give orders for the followingappointments to the Distinguished Service Order and for the award of theDistinguished Service Cross to the undermentioned officers in recognition of theservices referred to in the reports mentioned above:
To be Companions of the Distinguished Service Order.
