A gold patina makes these elephants shine. They are very heavy and will hold up those books of yours. The base of each bookend looks like stepped pyramids with beaded edges along the base and top. An elephant stands on the bases. The bookends are cast bronze with an applied gold colored patina. The bases may be weighted because they are very heavy. The bases are covered in old brown felt. There are no manufacturer’s marks or labels. MEASUREMENTS 5” (12.7 cm) long x 2 7/8” (7.3 cm) deep x 5 ½” (14.0 cm) tall. Weighs 5 lb 4.1 oz (2385 g) CONDITION There are no cracks, dents, or breaks. There are wear marks and losses to the patina throughout, but particularly along the bottom of the base on the flat side that rests against books. They still have a good shine. A very heavy pair of bookends to use and admire.
