YOU ARE offerDING ON A BEAUTIFUL ILLUMINATED LEAF OF GORGEOUSLY HAND PAINTED TEXT OF THE BOOK OF HOURS, PROBABLY ORIGINATING
IN FLANDERS OR THE NETHERLANDS, CIRCA 1450-1480! This is a rare 15th century
manuscript leaf on vellum written most
likely in a Flanders/ Dutch scriptorium, highlighted by the intricate and adorned gold and color floral designed miniatures, decorating one side. Gorgeously illuminated medieval
handwritten color illuminated leaf with
beautiful and singular black Gothic-Handwriting , complexly arranged
and created with the utmost in precision. If you look closely, you can note the
precise illuminated color and details of the gold heightened illuminated miniatures, a perfect reflection
of the care and time taken to make this page.. Done in multiple colors, they truly allow for this leaf to stand alone as a fantastic piece of medieval and religious art, rarely seen this intricate on the market.
The page is made of fine thin, virgin vellum in excellent condition with
merely minor traces of aging, edge flaws, etc , as shown. The leaf is
adorned on one side, the verso with simple Dutch gothic hand. 4.75" x 3.5".
