A very rare 18th Century Georgian Bilston or South Staffordshire Enamel Patch Box.Painted naval scene with Royal Navy battleships , motto around perimeter The Glorious Victory of Earl Howe 1st June 1794. Commemorating the Glorious 1st June 1794 and the victory over the French Fleet in the wars of the French Revolution. Hinged lid with mirror inside so that patches ( fake freckles etc. ) can be accurately place on the face . Generally in good condition. Some very slight cracking to the enamel which is common in patch boxes of this age , small area of chipped enamel to the lid. The internal mirror is cracked.
