C1900 Silver Jewish Kiddush Cup Jugendstil Germany Dreyfuss Antique Judaica For Sale
6 inches high, 2.7 inches wide. Done in Jugendstil (German Art Nouveau), style. Has an old repair right at the very beginning of the shaft/stem, shown closeup of the area in the 3rd photo. Weighs 3.6 ounces, hallmarked with German silver marks of "800 crown & moon", along with the maker, "Dreyfuss". Like Posen, Dreyfuss was a maker of silver Judaica in Germany 100+ years ago. Shown in the last photo is from the Sotheby's Judaica sale held in New York on December 19, 2007, where two identically designed goblets by Posen were estimated at $5,000 - $7,000 (each one was monogrammed, which decreases interest). They sold for over $4,100 ($3,000 hammer price + 25% buyers premium + 8.75% New York sales tax).
Insured shipping to anywhere in the USA is $13. Registered airmail worldwide is $30.
