C1950 VIETNAMESE NAMFONG 900 SILVER COVERED SUGAR BOWL W/ LANDSCAPE SCENES NoRes
covered sugar bowl features a low stepped foot with a bulbous body and a tapered neck. On either side of the body is an elegant bamboo form handle. The body and lid of the bowl has a bas relief designs featuring landscapes with multiple themes. On one side is a man riding a bull in a tree lined meadow with a pagoda and town in the distance, the other side shows small waterway with a boater approaching a bridge and rolling hills in the distance. The lid is also decorated in similar themes. The bottom is marked “NAMFONG VIETNAM 0.990”, along with a Russian import mark for 1956.
It is in overall very good condition.There is a small dent in the body on the side with the bridge landscape. Please see photos for more on the look and condition of this fine silver covered sugar bowl.
