An interesting antique straw work box, I believe it dates to the C19th possibly from the late Georgian or Victorian period, it has very delicate work with a Regency feel to the inlaid swags , stars and the chequered borders.
The top has a handpainted panel showing two show topped mountains, with a slightly oriental feel , though the box itself is very European looking in shape and style with the squared oversize feet
It is a good size 28x17.5cm and 9cm high, the overall condition is quite good, there are losses in some areasto the fine straw work also an inscription in french inside the lid.It\'s a highly decorative and charming C19th box, I will post worldwide with insurance.
