Terrible, South Africa and China, including Relief of Pekin, 1900; European War, 1914-1918 [despatches, D.S.O.]; gold medal from Swedish Government for saving life at sea, 1917; retired, 1929; recalled to Navy, 1939; Ministry of Information and afloat in all types of warships, [1939-42]; Staff of C.-in-C. Mediterranean, Dec. [1942-45]; a Younger Brother of Trinity House ; Member of the Navy Records Society, and of the Society for Nautical Research.
