CDV of Civil War disabled veteran Alfred A Stratton. He was wounded at the Battle of Petersburg in 1864, losing both arms, while serving in Company G, 147th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment.After the war, he sold Carte-de-visites to support himself. He married, had at least one child, and died in 1874.In this photo, Stratton wears a simple uniform shirt with collar pins for 147 and NY.Bottom two corners chipped, crease in upper left of card, some random light foxing. Plain back.I\'ve kept this for myself for many years but am ready to send Sergeant Stratton to another home.
