(Make sure you get a fully serviced clock here on ! Repairs for theseclocks at the factory typically run well in excess of $500. It's better to buy the best one you can afford instead of trying to "fix up" a broken one. A mechanical clock that doesn't keep accurate time isn't very useful!) Old"direct-train escapement" and 5 digit serial number make for ararer timepiece.Simply elegant with NONE of the complications and maintenance issues of a "striker."Terrific for the collector or your first Chelsea. On Jul-03-13 at 08:31:10 PDT, seller added the following information:
Dear authenticmaritime,Key you are offering is not period, and you should make note of it. Earliest Chelsea keys (as you may know) were of the "butterfly" type and unmarked. Respectfully, Goldensticks
Dear goldensticks,Thanks for your question. The key provided works as intended but is most certainly a reproduction. The period correct key would be an unmarked butterfly key. They sometimes are offered but usually sell upwards of $60. Best regards,- authenticmaritime
