The pictures (all taken in natural daylight) speak for themselves!This is anAUTHENTIC BRASS 8-1/2" diameter dial Marine Clock. This is aSHIPBOARDmodel. It runs for over 12 days.Avintage clockwith original dial andmoonhands madebyChelsea in Bostonin1940. Stamped on the back of the clock and movement are MATCHINGNUMBERS 275570. The nearly bulletproof PILOTHOUSE movement (no longer made)has been fully restored by a Chelsea Specialist. The clock keeps excellent time and tested for accuracy. The regulator isDEAD CENTER!Begins ticking withintwo turnsof the key after It has a fully serviced spring that winds so smoothly you will be ASTONISHED! TheSOLID BRASS CAST CASE is polished to a mirror finish. Check the photos carefully. Hinged bezel opens with push button, closes fully and locksperfectly. The glass is believed to be original. Thephenolic over brass dial is in original conditionwith a few blemishes in keeping with a carefully tended clock. Comes with Chelsea Brass Winding Key. An excellent timekeeper. (Make sure you get a fully serviced clock here on ! Repairs for theseclocks at the factory typically run well in excess of $500. It's better to buy the best one you can afford instead of trying to "fix up" a broken one. A mechanical clock that doesn't keep accurate time isn't very useful!) Chelsea clocks are still made in Boston, and remainTHE STANDARD in mechanical clocks.Terrific for the collector or your first Chelsea. This clock wasrelisted because it was returned for a loose screw in the latch which took 2 minutes to tighten.
