This clock has definitely been removed from a "retired" US Naval Vessel. Comes with US made engraved "Chelsea" winding key. Very Heavy clock with 6" dial. 8 inches across the back bulkhead swing-out mounting plate (generally missing). Includes hanging bracket for mounting. 8 day movement. Interior back plate has the sliding dust / moisture cover over the setting holes. Numbers are crisp and clean with no fading or stains. Highly polished nickelover solid brass case is in good condition with a 1/2" nick at the bottom of the front flange as seen in photos11 & 12. A similar clock recently sold for over $1200. This clock is an excellent timekeeper (recently lubricated). (Make sure you get a fullyoperational clock here on ! Repairs for these at the factory typically run well in excess of $400. It's better to buy the best one you can afford instead of trying to "fix up" a broken one. A mechanical clock that doesn't keep accurate time isn't very useful!) Chelsea clocks are still made in Boston, and remainTHE STANDARD in mechanical clocks. Many are still running perfectly after 100 years! This is a terrific "time only" clock without the mechanical complexity of a"Striker." Teriffic for the military buff or Chelsea Collector!
