CIJ French Tin Wind Up 1953 Renault Fregate 12.5" Very Good Condition
PLEASE READCOMPLETE DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY AND VIEW ALL PHOTOS CLOSELY BEFORE offerDING:
For your consideration I am offering a large 12.5" long heavy gauge tin clockwork wind up powered 1953 Renault Fregate sedan made by CIJ of France in the 1950's. This rather hard to find examplewith electric headlights is exceptionally clean and in very good 100% original condition with all parts intact. It has a strong wind up motor as well. The deep maroon finish has a rich luster showing a couple dings as well as some scattered scuffs and scratches. With that said, the car still displays beautifully and to find one of these scarce old toys this clean and complete is rare indeed. The construction is almost pressed steel or at least a heavier gauge tin than most Japanese toy cars of the same era. The outline of grill, hood, trunk and doors (the exception is driver's door which opens and closes) are all factory finished in silver paint. Rear license plate and tail lights have the same awesome application.Chrome bumpers and hubcaps all shine brilliantly with no tarnish or corrosion. Opening drivers door works well as it should. Actual door handle keeps door securely closed when shut.Interior is highly detailed with front seat, dash, movable 4 spoke steering wheel and turn signal stalk which controls on off of headlights. I think the lights require a European style battery of which I don't have but all the wiring is clean and intact so there is no reason why they should not work. Steering works well fully left and right controlled by a lever on chassis. Rear wheels have a unique balance system which acts as a movable suspension. Key is not original but it is old and from the same era. It is actually made by Arnold of Germany. The key fits perfectly and clockwork motor winds fully up propelling the drive wheels at a blinding speed. White rubber tires are all excellent with no cracks or flat spots.Glossy gray chassis shows minor wear. All tabs and connectors are intact. The car has never been opened up or molested with. A rare and wonderful vintage toy car that would be a welcome addition to any collection.Offered here with a low, low starting offer and ........as always.
Last photo is of similar car for reference from the Big Book Of Tin Toy out my other sales for more great old tin toy cars, motorcycles and trucks! I am happy to combine shipping.
International buyers are welcome and encouraged to emailbefore sale ends for shipping rates.

I am a collector as well as a dealer, and many times have been chagrined to open a box and find a rare vintage toy broken en route. Not due to postal misuse, but bypoor and insensitivewrapping. You will not receive toys packed like this from me. All my items are thoughtfullyand carefully packed as though I would be mailing them to myself. Prices are set by size and weight.USPS Priority Mail dimensional weight rates will now apply for certain large packages shipped to select zones within the U.S. Priority Mail can be very expensive with an oversize package, as many of my toys require, thereforefor those larger items I use Parcel Post which is just as safe and almost as fast. Please email any concerns before leaving response, and I will do my best to accommodate you.
