An original Civil War Quartermaster's delivery invoice for clothing and boots delivered to LIEUTENANT CLARENCE MAUCK of the 4th United States Cavalry at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, December 21, 1861. Signed by MAJOR LANGDON C. EASTON, Quartermaster. Size 8" x 10", folds, some aging and browning, overall very good condition....The 4th Cavalry saw service during the Civil War primarily in the western theatre and the Carolinas with General Sherman.....CLARENCE MAUCK served with the 4th Cavalry throughout the war, and was later assigned as Major to the 9th Cavalry "Buffalo Soldiers" in 1879. He died in 1881.....LANGDON EASTON graduated West Point in 1837, served in the Mexican War and was assigned to the Quartermaster Department in 1847. He was breveted Major General in 1865 for meritorious service and died in 1884.........Guaranteed original....$4.00 shipping......
