Civil War Armed Soldiers Hardee Hat W/crossed Sabres, Sword, Colt 44 Bowie Knife For Sale
1/6 Plate Tintype of two Civil War Union Cavalry Soldiers (perhaps father and son) both armed. One with a Sword (hands leaning on handle near bottom of image and somewhat out of view), Colt .44 revolver and a bowie knife tucked under his belt and wears shoulder scales on his shell jacket. The other wears a Hardee Hat with a officers crossed sabres embroidered on a black piece of oval cloth which were associated with the U.S. Cavalry the most glamorous arm of the military. He also brandishes a sword he rests on the other mans shoulder, grasped with his white gauntlets and wears a red waist sash and frock coat with a single nine row buttons down the front making him a company officer. Several items are gold tinted including crossed sabres, shoulder straps, shoulder scales, buttons and belt buckles also wonderful red toning of the waist sash. Comes with brass tone frame, matte and glass, no case. Picture measures approximately 2 3/4 x 3 1/4 inches. A awesome collectible and on of my favorite Civil War armed soldiers I ever owned.
