Hereis a wooden candle lantern designed after lanterns used in the CivilWar for use either in living history reenactment or for decorating.
Thelantern stands 10 1/4” to the top of the wood and 15 1/2” whenthe bail is upright. It is 5” square. Metal parts – tray andcover – are from naturally aged metal and the four corner pegs arehighlighted with antique square nails and has a metal candle holder.Also note the handmade hinges and door latch made from bailing wireto give the lantern a more authentic appearance.
Thelantern has been designed so that the glass is easily replaceable ifit should get broken. Wood stain is used to project an “antiquelook”.
Thelast pictures give an idea for decorating with the lantern when it isnot in reenactment use. The decorationsare not includedin the offer price.
