Civil War**rare**mansfield & Lamb Cavalry Sword Scabbard Tintypes 107th Ny Vol.:
You are offerding on a wonderful RARE CIVIL WAR SWORD & 3 TIN TYPES OF AN IDENTIFIED CIVIL WAR SOLDIER OF THE NY 107TH VOLUNTEERS. I own a building in Montour Falls NY which before 1903 was HAVANA NY. The building belonged to EDWIN WELLER from the 107TH NY VOLUNTEER INFANTRY. He fought in several well known battles. After the civil war he opened a DRY GOODS store here. These items were found here by my father who purchased the building in 1953 from the son of E. WELLER. I have sold several lots of E.Weller'sitems through the years. The sword is dated 1864 and signed MANSFIELD & LAMB. It is in excellent, untouched, original condition. The handle and brass braiding is excellent. The blade has a beautiful deep patina and the edge is original and unsharpened. It is 35" long. When I run my thumbnail down the blade I feel 3 tiny nicks. The scabbard is also excellent. The tin types of E. WELLER are in very good condition. One tin type has the cover of the case missing. One has a good case and one has a nice case with a loose cover. What a wonderful addition to your collection. I am listing several excellent CIVIL WAR items for sale.
