Confederate Civil War 26th North Carolina Soldiers Letter Wia Gettysburg For Sale
Up for offer is a nice original civil war letter written by Confederate Corporal William W. Edwards while serving in the 26th North Carolina Infantry. The letter has very good content including the mention of General Hookers army being out flanked and falling back to Mannassas. The letter also mentions the Battlefield at Chancellorsville and also General Yewell (Ewell) has whipt the Yankees at Winchester. The 1 sheet 2 page (front & back) letter measures 7.25 X 4.75 inches. The letter is in nice shape considering the age with some period folds and light age foxing/wear and an uneven cut left border (no doubt period). Guaranteed authentic in every regard. William W. Edwards served with the famous 26th North Carolina throughout the war and was wounded at the battle of Gettysburg.
