Consolidated Glass~cranberry Opalescent~criss-cross~salt/pepper Shaker~ca 1894 For SaleThis is a really, REALLY rare & spectacular find! This single shaker in the Criss-Cross pattern, cranberry opalescent color, was made by Consolidated Glass *FOR ONLY ONE YEAR* way back in 1894! There arent many still around....especially in this very good condition. This piece even still has the original lid! The lid has some tarnish on it but its complete & still fits very nicely. It removes nicely & still has virtually perfect alignment to the glass shaker. The actual glass portion isphenomenal. Its not broken or repaired, nor does it contain any true deterring damage. The base even has very little scuffing from shelf wear and the rim where the lid fits has either typical mould roughness or maybe the tiniest of fleabites. You can see the rim in the last photo & there are no "chips" or cracks. It could use some cleaning but I'm scared to death that my clumsy nature would result in a broken treasure. I'm not one for mailing out unclean items but I'm going to leave any slippery-soapy, antique salt shaker time to the new owner.
I'm selling this with against the advice of my husband.
