You are offerding onhalf of a Confederate 12pd Polygonal Wood Fuze Shell recovered from the Bentonville Battlefield (private property). The shell is for the smoothbore 12 pound Napoleon.The shell tookawood fuze, 7/8" openingand ispolygonal cavity pentagonal pattern. This shell was designed to encourage more uniform fragmentation.
Nice Confederate piece of history from the largest battle fought in North Carolina.
