A fine early vintageand genuine antique Confederate imprint, Richmond, 1862. 8vo, 2pp, on what was called "secessh"paper stock. Complete report from Gen. Hood's Headqtrs of the Texas Brigade, July 10, 1862.

Gen. J. B. Hood was in command of the Texas Brigade at this famous battle.This is his report on the action of his Texas boys in this very bloody battle. He names the officers he considers for high valor in the face of the enemy. Stating he lost 89 killed, 477 wounded. This is a genuine Confederate imprint, not a worthless reproduction.

The effect of the Federal guns on the advancing Confederate lines was murderous. Federals mowed down wave after wave of Confederates. Toward dusk, however, the perseverant Confederates came within 20-40 yards of the Federal line. Intense hand-to-hand combat ensued on the left of theUnion flank. Reinforcements on either flank were called forward to help repulse the oncoming Confederates.
