Size of Mount: 6 ¼ x 4 ¼ inches

Condition: Rich tonal image, sharp and clean image, some very tiny light spots on image, penned name on image front, penciled notations on verso.


Other: Wendell Phillips put aside his Harvard Law degree to personally devote his full effort to the abolition of slavery in belief that the government owed blacks the not just freedom, but full civil rights including land and education. He served as president of the American Anti Slavery Society. Additionally, he championed women’s suffrage reforms, prohibition, labor rights, currency reform and the end of capital punishment.

Warren’s studio Boston & Cambridge seems to have been active

During the 1860s through 1880s+. This cabinet card includes the credit on the verso reading, “Under the Superintendence of Mr. S.B. Heald.” Some cards will bear the name Warren & Heald.
