A standard item on the Sunday Dinner Table in the 1950\'s. Dad would carve the roast, turkey, or ham using the \"Carve-Rite\" to hold the meat in place while using the knife in his other hand (no electric knives in those days). This is the CARVE-RITE in its original box. Made by the L. E. Mason Company of Boston, Mass. Box measures 10 1/4\" x 4 1/2\" x 2 1/4\". Item measures 9 1/4\" long and 4 1/4\" wide at the handle. Weight (with box) is 1 lb. Thisis right out of my family kitchen where it has been stored on a back shelf for decades. It is in excellent condition in the original red and black box. There is a small hole on the box top and some wear and tear in places on the edges of the box. A great retro item from the mid-century kitchen.
