I have 6 Catalin radios and am looking to sell them all together due to time constraints and ease of handling the sale. These are of course collector items and something that a family friend has had a strong passion for and collected but now and coming out of his storage unit - these 6 are now for sale. They were purchased at different times over the past ten to 20 years by him and they look like they all work and have all working parts.
Only one of them has a card which is the larger "Standard Foreign" radio that actually sounds pretty good too - I tested it out by plugging it in and then it took a second to come, as I'm assuming they do, and started to hear great audio quality.
The other 5 radios do not have cords but I assume if a cord was added they would work fine - I have even more photos and would be happy to send them to you if you ask since only allows 11 photos to upload.
From what I can see, there is only one defect which is the dark burnt orange radio that has a piece of the side that is chipped off. I put the chipped off piece in it's place and if I held it there then it looks perfect and there is not even a crack - so I'm guessing with the proper super glue then you could glue this back in place and it would look great. I'd rather give it to you as is with the chipped piece off so that you (assuming you are a restorer or somebody who is more of a specialist with these types of radios) can glue it in.
I am selling these as is - they all look great.
The only other issue is that one small knob is missing on the dark orange burnt radio and the mustard yellow one in regards to its handle - it is not screwed in. It is there - but just not secured.
Besides that, they all look pretty unique and the original collector has great taste and loved music so I'm betting that you will love them too if you are a collector of catalin radios. They have more details and views and angles to see.
