Ah, the Ball pipe - one of Claudio Cavicchi\'s most original, demanding and compelling pipe shapes.
So compelling that The Briary pipe shop photographed and featured this outstanding, Cavicchi top grade, 5C Ball pip in a full-page ad for its shop (pictured.)
Claudio Cavicchi occasionally carves these wonderful Ball pipes in both cross-grain and straight-grain iterations.
This one is an exceptional cross-cut with full birdseye on the pipe\'s left side, and cross-grain flaring out from the center of the pipe\'s right side like the spokes of a wheel. Truly outstanding. (See, photos.)
The Cavicchi 5C Cross-grain Ball pipe is in pristine, barely used condition and has been smoked but three or four times since new.
The Cavicchi 5C Cross-grain Ball pipe comes with its original Cavicchi box and sleeve in perfect condition.
The Cavicchi 5C Ball pipe measures 5 1/8\" long with a 1 7/8\" bowl height, has a 13/16\" interior bowl diameter and has pipe walls 1/2\" thick at the center of the ball. The Cavicchi 5C cross-grain Ball pipe weighs a hair under 2 1/2 ounces or a bit over 70 grams.
