Charred + Toasted White American Oak Chips Distilling Moonshine Beer Wine Making For Sale
Toasted and Charred American White Oak Strips for Aging Wine or Time I toast and char the wood on Mondays and ship out the
orders on Tuesdays. I usually make extra but if my stock gets low during the week, you might
have to wait till the next Tuesday for me to put your order in the mail. This sale is for half toasted and half charred 100% natural and organic, heartwood (center) American
White
Oak. The toasted wood was put in a commercial
kitchen oven for 4 hrs at 350 degrees, and the charred wood was toasted then
burnt under a commercial kitchen broiler. Hand cut by manual saw and hatchet. No gas chain saw or gear oiled
blades. Suitable wood for human consumption. I've been an Executive Chef in a large restaurant for 18 years, and I am Serve-safe certified in
food and beverage sanitation, so you know your wood was handled properly.
I harvested this wood myself, so you know that its not red oak, Pin oak, or other unfavorable species of oak.
Tip: If your using this wood in less that 20% alcohol, (Most wines) you should boil this wood for 3 min before use to completely sanitize it
and remove any tannins. Over 20% alcohol (Most liquor) will sanitize and kill any bacteria that may be on the wood, but I still recommend boiling it just to be sure. Recommended use is 1 - 3 Oz per gallon for wine and 3 - 6
oz per gallon for high proof spirits. You can use more or less depending on the flavor you are looking for.

I understand all the hard work you put into making your high quality
wine or spirits and I do the same with my wood . The price reflects the
amount of work it takes to hand cut one of the
hardest woods in the world then hatchet the oak into strips, toast it,
char it, package it and keep it all clean and sanitized to make sure you
receive highest quality oak.
What I mean by organic is
the tree grew in the deep woods naturally with no chemicals, or roads
nearby. The
wood was chopped by hand, and not cut buy gas saws with chain oiled saw
blades. Some people selling oak chips will use recycled lumber from
wood shops that may have chemicals, paint, varnish, ect. on them, also
they can‘t tell you how it was harvested. Most importantly, is that a
majority of lumber oak is red oak and not white oak, a big difference.
