Chinese Export Silver Chrysanthemum On Hand Hammered Surface Bowl Wang Hing For SaleFINE CHINESE EXPORT SILVER CHRYSANTHEMUM ON HAND HAMMERED SURFACE FOOTED BOWL; EXCELLENT CONDITION
This is a Chinese export silver royal chrysanthemum on hammered surface bowl.
From Wang Hing.
Trade silver prices have exploded in the past year. As evidenced by Skinners Boston sales in Fall 2010. There a pair of 4 1/4 inches vases for $2000.
Shortly thereafter, a common, damaged 20 ounce CES tea set sell for $6800 USD at Halls Gallery in the UK. A slightly larger, damaged, mismatched maker set sold at Christie's London this winter for $7200.
We are advising clients to acquire examples such as this. Rather than waste thousands of dollars on common tea sets and bowls, with no investment potential whatever.
In classic tapering circular form.
Adorned with brilliantly hand carved royal chrysanthemum displays. Centre flowers carved in exceptional relief. Set against rich hand hammered surface. The thousands of individually applied hammer punch marks shimmer in the natural light.
The centre bowl displays the finest hand chased finish detail. Clearly the work of one of one of Wang Hing's master chasers.
This Chinese export silver floral on hand hammered surface bowl is 3 5/8 inches. Thick, heavy guage solid silver it weighs 3 3/4 (standard) ounces.
Hallmarked as shown.
Excellent condition. Lustreous silver patina throughout. Beautifully chased floral decoration retains its original crisp, hand chased detail. Faint interior gilt retained.
For the discerning collector of the finest China trade silver. An extremely fine China trade silver royal chrysanthemum bowl. Excellent condition.

Remember, the items you see are antiques. Hence, have an expected amount of wear from normal use. As such, returning an item because we failed to mention the tiniest bit of wear, or barely discernible flaw is not acceptable. Nor do we accept returns based on buyer's remorse.
