We are quite pleased to offer this rare c1880 Chinese export silver miniature rickshaw and cruet. Signed SILVER and chinese characters. Important. This is export period hand crafted silver. It is NOT c1940s tourist trade crudely fashioned work. As so often found on . This rickshaw hand crafted as real. The roof is retracted back, so an open air ride. With centre panel opened for more passenger comfort. The seat with floating cloud engraving. A unique touch. The foot rest with diamond engraved surface. Tall spoked wheels and fenders. The Chinese driver in wide brim hat with hand engraved spiral design. Short jacket and short pants. Rich life like facial detail. The cruet in the form of a bamboo shoot, with screw on cover for filling. Miniature rickshaw is 4 3/4 inches and weighs 2 standard ounces. Signed in Chinese characters and SILVER. In excellent condition. Rich, lustreous sterling patina throughout. Retains the original detail throughout. For the discerning collector of the finest Chinese export silver.
