Trade silver prices have skyrocketed the last few years. We just returned from Northeast sales. There a common six inch dragon box sold for well over $2000. USD.
That box smaller and nowhere near the quality of this Wang Hing floral example.
In classic rectangular form. Well cast sharply defined rim and sides.
The well fit cover adorned with beautifully hand carved royal chrysanthemum displays. The delicate flowers carved in exceptionally high relief from stippled background surface.
The front and sides with equally streaming bamboo displays. Rising from rocky ground.
Cover and side panels with satin like stippled background. Founded on the finest CES.
Rich, life like finish detail throughout. Clearly the work of one of Wang Hing's master chasers.
Signed for Wang Hing.
This fine Chinese silver chrysanthemum on stippled surface desk box is 5 1/8 inches and weighs 11 standard ounces.
In excellent condition. Rich, lustreous silver patina throughout. The beautiful raised floral retain their original crisp, vibrant detail. Few mild scuffs to interior only.
