Chinese Famille Rose Lidded Teapoy / Tea Caddy - Qianlong - 18th Century:
A Chinese porcelain, lidded teapoy / tea caddy, dating to the 18th Century (Qianlong period). Painted inFamille Rose colours, withtwo panels of figures in a garden. Between them are two further panels, painted in rose enamel, one with a landscape and the second with a bird perching on a branch. Above and below are tiny roundels painted with flowers "en grisaille". The lid has similar rose panels and "grisaille" roundels. Measuring 5.25" high. The lid has some restoration to the rim and finial, and the base also has some restoration below. (see photos). As is often the case, however, the restoration seems to be rather overdone and the actual damage it covers seems to be quite minimal.
