Superb Chinese export sterling silver card case, made by Wang Hing of Hong Kong, circa 1890.

This is a very fine quality rectangular card case made by the highly collectable and sought after maker, Wang Hing, circa 1890.

The card case is rectangular in shape with straight sides.The front, back and sides of the case are superbly chased in high relief with leaves and a tree with branches and blossoms/flowers against a textured background.

The front of the card case has a shield with no engraving / no monogram.

The card case has a pull off lid. Such is the quality of the case that the chased trees / branches / leaves run over from the base to the lid almost seamlessly.

The card case is 1-7/8 inches / 48 mm wide and it is 3/8 inches / 10 mm thick. It stands 3-1/4 inches / 82 mm high and weighs 51 grams.

The underside has clear Chinese hallmark including 90 mark and maker's mark WH for Wang Hing.

The cardcaseis in excellent condition with no dents, damage or repair.
