Choice Original Ww1 M1912 Campaign Hat Aviation Cadet.sz 7 1/2 For Sale
Here is a screamer of a model 1912 army campaign hat. Has the typical 5 rows of stitching around brim. Size tag which is still intact shows it to be a size 7 1/2. I wear a size 7 5/8 and it is tight on me so it is close to a size 7 1/2. Aviation hat cord. Note also it has the wide white ribbon around it, unique to aviation cadets. The originalkhaki silk ribbon is under this. Leather sweatband with the buckle. Inside it still has the brass gromets from the original shoestring chin strap. No contact marking. Leather sweatband is nice. A few moth nips but nothing major. Great high peak typical of these early ww1 campaign hats. This came from a large ww1 aviation collection that was haphazardly sold by a upper midwest sale house in illinois. I believe it to be an 100% original WW1 U.S. ArmyAviation Cadets Hat and am selling it as such. White ribbon is original to it. Shows its age. A wonderfulexample of the M1912 campaign of a very rare normal size. Thanks for looking!
