Circa 1835-1840 Printed Challis Dress Museum De-accessioned For Sale
An early 1835-1840 pale gray printed challis dress that has been de-accessioned from a museum collection. The dress is all hand stitched. The cataloging tag is stitched inside the bodice. The fabric has a burgundy leaf and small plum floral print. The front of the bodice has fan pleating and the sleeves have a puffed over sleeve. The neck, shoulders and waist are piped. The bodice is lined with cotton and has a back hook and eye closure. The skirt is unlined except for a band of cotton at the edge of the hemline. The bodice has light underarm discoloration, a few tiny age spots, some missing fabric on the piping at the waistline and one sleeve cuff has 2 dime size surface only holes. The skirt has several scattered holes from pencil tip to pea size. All is reflected in the reserve price. The age flaws are not obvious when displayed. Bust 30 Waist 22 Skirt length 40. PAYPAL ONLY.
