Original autoharps, also known as a zither harps, corded zithers and autoharp zithers, were portable parlor musical instruments initially popular from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. They were zithers with a pin block attachment consisting of three or more bars placed across the string in the center of the instrument. The pin block is a device equipped with damper buttons which, when pushed down, deaden all strings not used in a chord. A decal at the instrument\'s bottom provided printed musical notes with aligned names.

Burgundy Style, 7\" wood crack near emblem, reverse has vertical cracks, light surface wear, detailed paint and gold gilding is intact, SOLD AS IS,SEE SCANS.

Issued by American Guitar & Zither Co., Jersey City, New Jersey around 1900, this is the 2nd style. It has NOT been restored, all tuning pegs are intact.
