ORIGINAL HANDWRITTEN LETTER - 1863 - ARRESTING A COLONEL FOR HIS BEHAVIOR
Up for sale is this ORIGINAL handwritten official CIVIL WAR document from the 1st regiment, New York infantry. This letter is dated January 7th, 1863 and states "HEAD QUARTER BERRY'S BRIGADE, CAMP PILTHER (?). Size of this document is: almost 8 by10 inches and in EXCELLENT CONDITION. This original Civil War document is written and signed from a Colonel in the UNION Army regarding the poor or bad character of JAMES CLANCY, another Captain that had been dismissed from service due t his behavior and lack of competence. This official Army letter states that he is under "official arrest". All this military legal ordeal is under the watchful eye of "COMMANDING MAJOR GENERAL DAVID BELL BIRNEY ".
