For your consideration we are offering this authentic Civil War Confederate bond thirty dollar interest receipt.Hand cutand unredeemed froman original 1864 Confederate $1000.00 war bond. FYI: In desperate need of funding the war effort, the Confederate States of America authorized the sale of $1000.00 bonds on Feb. 17, 1864. To attract investors the Confederacy offered a staggering 6% interest. From one of these bonds we offer an interest receipt which promises that the Confederate States of America will pay the bearer $30.00 for six months interest on a specific date in the future. These are small notes measuring approx. 3" x 1.5". This fineinterest receipt features a hand numbered serial number and printed signature of Robert Tyler, the son of the tenthPresident of the United States, John Tyler. A wonderful Confederate Civil War memento. You will receive a noteexactly as pictured but itmay have a different serial number as each bond had a different serial number. Also the borders of these notes may be a bit uneven as they were hand cut from the bond. The second image in the photo gallery shows a bond with interest receipts still attached to the lower portion of the bond. We have a limited number of these bond interest receipts in stock.
