Civil War Ambrotype-amputated Arms Confederate Soldier-union Case-uss Monitor For Sale
This is a very desirable 6th plate ambrotype of a confederate civil war soldier in full uniform with both arms amputated and the sleeves of his coat rolled up. Very rare image in as found estate condition. Unidentified soldier has pink blush cheeks and his eyes and face show the anguish that he went through during the bloody war. The case is a union case thermoplastic of the USS iron clad monitor made by Littlefield, Parsons& Co. in very nice condition with only some tight partial lines in the corners from shrinkage and a couple of extremely tiny flicks. You will be lucky to add this civil war ambrotype to your collection.
