Civil War Campsite Relics - Dug Near & Around Gettysburg Pennsylvania:
This antique Civil War relic display case with glass top was put together and assembled in the 1960’s by an old timer who loved collecting as much as we do. I happened to purchase it from the highly respected Civil War Antiques Seller here on (the one who photographs everything with the bright red backdrop) It measures approximately 16” x 12.5” and weighs a hefty 5.5 pounds. It’s contents were dug up/retrieved from Gettysburg, PA and the surrounding area back when you were allowed to. It contains many great relics from the famous 3 days of battle July 1st, 2nd, and 3rd 1863. I’ve enjoyed owning it but now it’s someone else’s turn as I’m saving up for my next piece.
Some of the items include:
Steel boot heel (horseshoe shape), Padlock (heart shape), Bullets/mini ball, Poker chip, Artillery fragments, soldiers knapsack buckle, Bayonet scabbard end/tips, Button(s), Ax (made of wood, it’s use/purpose unknown), And more as you can see.
***NOTE*** The Eagle buckle shown in the last picture is not authentic. It is a beautiful old replica though with nice patina.
Each relic has been attached to the display with a dab of glue. Though they are attached securely, shipping could cause one or more to detach (I doubt it but just in case) If this occurs you’ll simply apply a drop of glue to reattach it.
