Dug in the vicinity of Pine Mnt Kennesaw GA Leonidis Polk position, this is a tough one to dig. It is a cuff size Mississippi "I" Infantry button, bearing the backmark "HYDE & GOODRICH N.O." This was a firm in New Orleans, Lousiana which was a major manufacturer of Confederate buttons. Polk was killed at Pine Mnt right before the battle of Kennesaw Mnt. He was a beloved Confederate General by his men. Here is a rare relic from one of his soldiers. I only have two others to post from this dig site private property.
