Civil War Document 1864 6th Kentucky Enlistment Henry Co. Antique 1 Old Paper I For Sale
An original Civil War document. This is an enlistment document for the 6th Kentucky Volunteers. It says Thomas Lowden born in Henry Co. Kentucky aged 27 by occupation a farmer acknowledges to have volunteered to serve as a soldier for three years, and he swears he will bear true faith and allegiance to the United States of America and that he will serve honestly and faithfully against all their enemies or opposers whomsoever; and that he will observe and obey the orders of the President of the United States and officers appointed over him according to the Rules and Articles of War. He signs his name and it is dated January 1864. In one area it is signed by the Surgeon of the 23rd KY Vol Inf who says he examined the Volunteer and in his opinion he is free from all bodily defects and mental infirmity which would disqualify him as a soldier. And in another area it is signed by a Captain and says he is mustereed into the service of Company K of the 6th Kentucky Regiment.
Thedocument is in good condition with some wear, and some stain marks.
