Really unusual, one of a kind hand made mechanical toothpick holder. I think it was probably in a GAR Hall. You fill it with toothpicks....the main body moves up and down and when you lift it up a toothpick falls into the grove at the very top and when you let it go back down the toothpick is in place at the top for you you take. It\'s great... Looks like walnut to me. It is in nice condition overall with great patina. There are 2 pieces of trim along the sides of the base missing.
