The April 14, 1863 issue is a thick newspaper with 12 pages., with a huge detailed map showing the "Great Iron-Clad Fight"., operations off Charleston., Fort Sumter and the CSA forts protecting the approaches, the great iron-clad gunboats passing through the narrows and blasting away at the forts.

The Feb. 23, 1862 has full details from Gen. Grant on the battle of Fort Donelson., an eyewitness to the horrors are told in vivid details, bodies as deep as six foot high, details of the cannon fire blowing away those in front into pieces, etc., terrible details of battle.
