Before buying a concho belt, it is a good idea to know a little bit about them.
We hope this helps you with your purchasing decision.History of Concho BeltsThe earliest concho belts were often times hammered out silver dollars that were embellished with stamps with decorative design. They were then slotted and strung together on leather. Not only are conchos (also refered to as conchas) used for belt decor but conchos are often times used to decorate saddles, bridles or clothing and are popular as jewelry. Each individual concho piece is attatched to a leather disk in the same shape to protect the silver from wear and tear around the edges. Conchos of fine quality are attached with copper loops to the leather belts.Description
