Some more information about this Conway Stewart 388. 1939-40s.
This wonderful Blue Marble 388 is as handsome as they come. No one does colour better than Conway Stewart. Made of Celluloid the mixtures of Blues to form the marbled effect are highlyelegant. All of which contrasts perfectly against the Yellow Gold plated, clip, lever and rings. Has to be seen in person to appreciate its true beauty. Its barrel signatures are deep and easy to read. Never polished. Rare. It has, "The Conway Stewart" and No. 388 under which is an early logo example, The word, The, was dropped from The Conway Stewart logo by the 1950s to just, Conway Stewart. This early example also has Made in England going around the pen rather than under theConwayStewartlogo. Nice features. All date the pen from 1939 to early 1940s. Considering its age this pen is in astonishing condition. It has no dents, scratches or bite marks etc. All the gold trim is also great. Once in the hand to the naked eye this 70+ year old pen looks fabulous. You will struggle to find better.
The 14C Fine to medium Line nib is a simple joy to use. Very user friendly. It has smallfirm flex to give a little spring. But more than anything it is designed for simplicity of use in anyone's hand regardless of experience. Just a beautiful line. No digging in. No paper scratch. No tines twisting or spraying of ink dots with this nib. Wonderful pen. Writesbeautifully. Works as New.
