Checkout the color on this one! This demijohn is a deep, deep red amber.There is no actual amber color in this bottle, only orange highlights in the shoulder area. The color on this one is hard to capture and it looks better than my pictures.
It is heavily whittled with bubbles and swirls in the glass. It has the look and color of Stoddard glass to me. Beautiful with back light.
It has a nice fat applied collar top, made in a two piece mold and measures approximately 15 1/4\" tall and 5 7/8\" across the base. There is no pontil but it has a molded indent in the center of the bottom 3 1/4\" wide.
The glass is shiny original great condition with some inside haze in the upper shoulder area inside and some and some random scratches and scuffs on the outside.
There are also four very thin onion skin open surface bubbles (as seen in the photo) on the sides. The longest one is in the photo and measures 1\" long. There are also two other thin skin open bubbles like that in the neck side by side but all are in making.
None of the minor issues mentioned detract from the beauty of this bottle. Just a great looking early piece.
