Forged with German Steel - Finish Manufacturing by Hand in USA
THIS IS THE ACTUAL KNIFE YOU WILL RECEIVE!FEATURES of Model: CFK-D-Color-9: This knife's blade is made with German Steels and then the knife is finished here in the USA. CFK Cutlery Co. sells some of the highest quality Damascus knives available for their value. Our products are not junk and or made with low grade "mild Damascus" steels that are usually tempered to 54-56HRC and are brittle and do not hold an edge. Our Damascus is some of the best on the market today and it is a mixture of 1095HC and 15N20 Nickel. It is called "Double High Carbon Steel". The blank has been heat treated to 58-60HRC - C Scale. It has 5 folds of 254 layers of Damascus. We also offer a top grade leather sheath with the knife at no extra charge.PROTOTYPE HEAT TREATING COLOR PROCESS: Color Damascus is a new art that is very difficult to do, yet is absolutely beautiful. Losing the normal acid etched appearance of Damascus we have created our "Golden Pink" color. Our Damascus is some of the best on the market today and this particular color Damascus is a prototype color that is currently only available through us. The Colored appearance is attained by tempering the steel at higher heat temperatures for a longer duration of time, thus creating the color. This is a very difficult process and hard to do. This is a super nice knife. One of a kind. The color process is not a veneer, it is a heat treated color change of the steel, and will not rub or scratch off the blade.Hand Blade Filing: This particular knife was created for the recent 2013 Oregon Knife Collectors Club Show. The knife's handle was hand filed and then the cracks were filled with a hard red resin material. The purpose of this resin is to protect the spine of the blade from rusting and to make the handle feel smooth and rounded. Most sub par knife makers do not fill in the cracks and leave the bolsters and spine of the blade with open seems and or cracks between the blade and the handle material.SPECS ON THIS KNIFE: The knife is 8 1/4" overall with a 3 1/2" blade. 5mm thick at the spine. Weight 6.0 ounces. The handles are USA Made Yellow G10 Micarta. The handles feel smooth and good in my hand. The scales are 4 1/2" long on the handle. The handles are held together by 5 brass pins. There is a lanyard hole in the handle. The way the G10 was ground, the handle feels smooth and good in my hand. The blade is built tough and the knife is super nice. There is a nice black leather sheath for it. CFK CUTLERY CO. This knife is worth $449.99 when one of our private label brand companies puts their logo on it. We usually sell these at local knife and gun shows in the Western part of the USA. Becasue this knife is an unbranded "sample" knife, we are able to offer it at a bargain on .
