Custom Chef Knife Pchak, Handle Out Of Yak Horn - Exceptional Piece Of Art :
This is brand new fully custom knife made by a very old artisan knife maker inOsh, Kyrgyz Republic (I added pictures taken in his workshop where this knife is also pictured on the day that I bought it). What is interesting, in Kyrgyzstan there are very few masters left and because of economic situation the masters are using the original methods like they did in the old days. This is a real blacksmith and you can now own one of his very custom and rare knives.
This is a classic knife unique for Uzbeks and known as Uzbek Pchak. Knife ispredominantly used forcooking and youwould not believe how light this knife is. The blade is razor sharp - we owe one like this and use it in our kitchen many times a day. You may cut, slice and dice almost anything with it but please do not use it on any bone, it will crush the blade. The blade will also develop patina after some use but it will not loose any functionality. I have seen what very expensive knives can do and this one can do the same. The blade is very thin, like arazor and you will cherish it for life.
The blade is made from recycled Soviet "Moskvich" sedan car steel - I doubt that you would find many knives in US made from same type of steel. The handle is made from authentic Yak horn. Knife comes with asturdy hunting style sheath that I bought myself that fits the knife very well.
Bought this knife directly from the artisan while in Asia and currently using the another from the same masterknife maker (also pictured side by side with the one I amselling) but as my collection has expanded I am looking to sell off few unique pieces and this is one of them. This would make a superb gift to your favorite hunter or chef. No guy should go without owning at least one of these. This a very expensive yet functional piece of art and I am sorry to let it go but it would make me happy if it found a good home. Careful, very sharp blade.
