This is simply a Beautiful Set!! Pretty transfer of Pink Roses, and Apple Blossoms! The transfer has a very minor scratches, but in very nice condition. Hand painted gilt detailing, and a pretty iridescent dark green border. Hard to capture in pictures, but the border has the look of oil on water, shades of burgundy, rust on the dark green. I have sold hundreds mirrors and sets, but I can honestly say I have not seen another quite like this one.
There is a bit of darkening to the brass, especially on the handles. They could be polished bright again, but will leave that to new owner. I am partial to the aged look, as once you take the patina away, takes a long time to get it back. There is one open hole , bristles missing on the brush. The original Beveled mirror has minor scratches, otherwise, nice and clear. Has a almost magnifying affect? The comb is celluloid? With matching brass ormolu strip at the top. No missing teeth. This set will box at 2 pounds.
