Overall, the materials will accommodate a foot up to about an infant shoe size 3 (the average age for this is 9 months) and/or an infant hand up to about age12 months. However, every child is different and if you are unsure, measure the baby's foot.(The foot casting tray is about 5 inches long and you want to have a little wiggle room.)
~7 bags of nontoxic, hypo-allergenic molding powder in 2 sizes
~7bags of casting stone
~6 reusablemolding containers in 3 different shapes/sizes
~mixing spoons & sticks
~disposable stone transfer pippette
~2 paint brushes &mate clear sealant (unless another is requested)
~sanding papers &detailing pin
~holepunch & ribbon (for baby bottom)
How is a 3D casting made?Mix the moldingpowder (cool setting, nontoxic& non allergenic) with water and insertthe foot or hand (or dip baby bottom).Hold baby's foot or hand in ther material forabout 45-60 seconds. Wiggling is not a problem as long as your child's foot or hand remains submerged in the molding material until it sets. Remove foot, hand, or bottomleaving behind a negative 3D mold. That mold is then filled with casting stone. Once hardened, the molding material is peeled awayto revealthe stone staue. Note: Your child never comes into contact with casting stone. General Photo Instructions
Finish Choices: (Some sort of finish is recommended to keep out dirt and oil, etc.) The clear glaze is a water based triple-thick formula that goes on smoothly with no brush strokes and usually requires only 1 thin coat. It lends a bright, clear coating that gives the illusion of depth and creates a glazed ceramic look. The clear semi-matte sealant is water-based, goes on white and dries to a clear semi-matte finish. It can also be applied over other paints. The paints are nontoxic metallic acrylics that are especially designed for bisques, ceramics and plasters.
Other items you will need (not included): bowl for mixing casting stone, liquid measuring cupand mixing spoon
Optional Items: permanent marker for monogramming, clear coat varnish finish to go over paints (recommended if the statue will be handled a lot)
